Yulia Putintseva rolled past Naomi Osaka in dominating fashion, claiming their Birmingham second-round match 6-2, 6-3.

On her way to victory Putintseva shocked the crowd when she hit an unexpected winner off of Osaka's serve. Osaka hit a serve wide, and Putintseva leaned in, faked a backhand, but pulled out a well-disguised drop shot. Whether it was intended or a last-minute reaction, it's in the books as Thursday's hot shot.

Putintseva will continue her grass-court campaign against Julia Goerges, an opponent she has never beaten.
