Hubert Hurkacz is adding not one, but two, decorated coaches to his team for the 2025 season, announcing on social media Friday that he's hired both Ivan Lendl and Nicolas Massu.

The announcement comes three months after Hurkacz split with his coach of five years, Craig Boynton, under whose tutelage he won all eight of his career ATP titles and rose to a career-high world No. 6 in the rankings this most recent summer.

The 27-year-old will hope for the same, or greater, measures of success with a pair of decorated former players who guided others to Grand Slam titles. In nine years, across three stints, coaching Andy Murray, Lendl helped the Scot win three majors, while Massu worked with Dominic Thiem when the recently-retired Austrian won the 2020 US Open.

Hurkacz told the ATP website in a statement that having an International Tennis Hall of Famer in Lendl, and former Olympic gold medalist in Massu, as his co-coaches is "an honor."

“Their knowledge and dedication inspire me to work harder than ever, and I’m ready to put in the hard work," the Pole said.

Hurkacz's 2024 season was derailed when he suffered a torn meniscus in a second-round loss to Arthur Fils at Wimbledon, with the subsequent surgery forcing him out of the Olympics. His early-season highlights included a runner-up finish representing Poland with Iga Swiatek at the United Cup, a quarterfinal at the Australian Open, and his first career clay-court singles title in Estoril in April.

After rising to his career-high ranking in August, he dipped to a year-end perch of No. 16.

“I’m excited and optimistic for season 2025 and beyond," Hurkacz added. "This has been a year of ups and downs; I’ve learned a lot and grown a lot, and I can finally say I am fully healthy and ready for the challenges ahead.”

Hurkacz is set to kick off his 2025 season by once again competing at the United Cup alongside Swiatek next month, in the aftermath of Thursday's announcement that she tested positive for a banned substance earlier this year.
