Inside Wawrinka and coach Norman's solid partnership

The Swede has been working with Wawrinka since Indian Wells in 2013. Since then Wawrinka has reached a career high No. 3 ranking, and has won 12 titles (including all three of his Grand Slams). Before teaming up with Norman, Wawrinka had won just three titles.

"I started working with Stan because he seem like a really nice guy…" Norman said. "We already knew Stan was a very very good player… We were lucky, we got off to a very good start."

Norman was ranked as high as No. 2 before retiring in 2004. He won 12 career ATP titles.

"I was hoping for a change for improvement on my side, but I never expected to be that high in the ranking..." Wawrinka said. "I think why we have so much success is because we find the right balance between being friends and coach/player…"

Norman was awarded the inaugural ATP Coach of the Year Award after a successful season saw Wawrinka add his third major at the US Open.
