Great Britain's Gabriella Taylor is back on the practice court after a "mystery illness" forced her to retire from the junior Wimbledon quarterfinals. Police are now investigating claims that Taylor was deliberately  poisoned "with intent to endanger life."

The 18-year-old was eventually diagnosed with leptospirosis, a bacterial infection spread by rat urine that can cause severe complications, including fatal organ failure.

Her mother, Milena told the *Telegraph* that it was "impossible" for Gabriella to contract the illness in the "healthy environment" she was staying in, and added that her daughter "almost died."

"The bacteria the infection team found is so rare in Britain that we feel this could not have been an accident," Milena Taylor said.

The world No. 381 hasn't competed since Wimbledon (where on top of her junior run she won a round in women's qualifying.)
