It's hard to miss the crowd's sheer moment of glee as John Isner materialized before them.

On Thursday night, the Springfield Lasers hosted the San Diego Aviators for some heated Mylan World TeamTennis action. Isner, the marquee player for the Lasers, thrilled fans from all over the globe. With Springfield, Mo. serving as the sister city for Isesaki, Japan, a collection of excited fans from Asia flew in to see some top-level tennis and the nation's top-ranked male.

It wasn't all meet-and-greets for the top-ranked American. The world No. 19 competed in a tight deciding singles set for Springfield.

With Isner winning the extended play super tiebreaker over San Diego's Ryan Harrison, Springfield got the victory, 23-21. The Lasers next host the Washington Kastles on Friday night, but Isner won't be there as he gets ready for Cincinnati next week.
