Inquiring minds now want to know: how long will it take for Jelena Ostapenko and chair umpire Marija Cicak to be reunited?

If the 2017 Roland Garros champion has it her way, the two are never, ever getting back together on a match court.

On Monday in Rome, Ostapenko advanced to the quarterfinals of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia. The No. 20 seed defeated eighth-seeded Daria Kasatkina, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0, but not before another proverbial episode of Penko Takes Issue With Line Calls commenced.

With Ostapenko serving at 15-30, 2-4, Kasatkina moved around to rip an inside-in forehand return winner. No call was made, as Ostapenko motioned her finger—it wasn’t a thumbs up to say the least.

Cicak got off her chair to show the Latvian where Kasatkina’s shot landed in, at one stage urging her to “come here!”

Turning to her box with a laugh, Ostapenko showed the Croatian how far she thought it was out.

“Look at it,” implored Cicak.

“Call the supervisor,” demanded Ostapenko.

One of the most experienced chair umpires in the sport, Cicak refused to let the moment be stretched out into a prolonged delay.

“They cannot help you with my decisions. And they can explain that later,” she said.

A displeased Ostapenko had one final proclamation before walking back to the baseline.

“You will never, ever be at my match again,” the 25-year-old asserted.

Two points later, Cicak had to come down a second time to deliver bad news about a first serve the former world No. 5 wanted reviewed. In true Ostapenko fashion, the Riga native won four straight points to hold serve.
