JJ Wolf dons NHL Blue Jacket jersey at US Open

Before J.J. Wolf exits the court he does so in style, and it could be part of the reason why the American is having an impressive showing this week in New York. Look good, feel good right?

After dismissing Guido Pella in straight sets on Tuesday, Wolf quickly threw on a NHL Blue Jackets jersey on, with his name in bold on the back. He even wore the shirt to press.

"One of my best friends from my college team, and also roommate, Mikael Torpegaard, is very close to a couple of the Blue Jackets players," the Ohio native told press. "I thought I'd try to show them a little support, whether they're in or out.”

The Columbus, Ohio hockey team recently gave the young player a jersey following last week's Western & Southern Open.

"James Perez, my agent, brought it so I was very excited. I had to break it out. I put it on right after the match," Wolf said.

With his blonde mullet and vintage-looking Lotto pullovers, he's also channeling his inner 90s' Andre Agassi.

Before the tour shutdown, Wolf managed to capture the Charleston and Columbus' Challenger events. The world No. 138 seems to be showcasing the same high-level of play he did earlier this year in his first major main draw appearance.

As he enters the US Open's third round after a win over Spain's Roberto Carballes Baena, fans can definitely expect to see him donning his new jersey and continuing to ooze vintage Agassi vibes.

"Got the Wolf on the back so I'm always trying to rep wherever I go,” he said of his team.

The 21-year-old’s next match will be against last year’s finalist Daniil Medvedev on Saturday.
