Former world No. 9 Joachim Johansson will attempt a miniature comeback next week in the pre-qualifying tournament held by the Intrum Stockholm Open.
Johannsson, or “Pim Pim”, also came out of retirement for the same tournament in 2013. The 37-year-old advanced all the way through qualifying and won his first-round match against Alejandro Falla 6-1, 6-3 before losing to Milos Raonic in the second round.
Aided by a monster serve, the Swede temporarily held the record for the most aces in a singles match after firing 51 dingers against Andre Agassi at the 2005 Australian Open. Ivo Karlovic broke the record a few months later at the French Open against Lleyton Hewitt.
Johansson's serve still looks pretty unreturnable.
