The Croats would end up falling to Argentina in the deciding rubb

Ivo Karlovic must have been feeling extra powerful heading into Davis Cup Final weekend.

The Croat posted a photo on Instagram of himself and team members Marin Cilic and Borna Coric during Saturday’s matches against Argentina, comparing the team to a trio of Marvel’s Avengers.

Unfortunately, even superheroes fall short sometimes: Karlovic lost both of his singles matches, and Coric was replaced by Franko Skugor due to injury.

Cilic did win his singles rubber, and partnered with Ivan Dodig for a doubles win against Juan Martin Del Potro and Leonardo Mayer, meaning that when Karolovic's photo was making the social rounds, Croatia was leading 2-1.

On Sunday, Cilic lost his grip on a two sets to love lead against Del Potro, and Karlovic's fell to Federico Delbonis in straight sets, giving Argentina its first Davis Cup title in history.
