KICK IT UP: Kick serve basics

Learn how to make the kick serve bounce and when to use it.

The kick serve can be most effective for neutralizing a good returner since it bounces high and won't be in anyone's strike zone. It's best used against players that are shorter or have a one-handed backhand. Since you're using a lot of spin, it's also a safer serve for tight situations or for when you're nervous.
