Amelie Mauresmo was one of the many to express frustration and downright outrage at the scheduling of the women's semifinals at Roland Garros on Friday. Due to the weather forecast, organizers put both women's matches on at the same time at 11 a.m. (Paris time) on the smaller stadiums.
"The scheduling of the women's semis at Roland Garros tomorrow is a disgrace," Mauresmo said.
Marketa Vondrousva beat Johanna Konta on Court Simone Mathieu while Ashleigh Barty fought past Amanda Anisimova on Court Suzanne Lenglen. The men's semifinals were scheduled for 12:50 p.m. on Court Philippe Chatrier, with Novak Djokovic vs. Dominic Thiem following Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal. Tickets were sold separately for men's and women's semifinals.
