What's a little banter between friends? Among the congratulations for Aryna Sabalenka on her US Open victory over the weekend, the humorous exchange she shared with her best friend Paula Badosa took the cake as the most viral.

Replying to Sabalenka's fist post on X, formerly Twitter, as US Open champion, where she expressed disbelief at her victory, Badosa wrote: "Believe it. Crazy achievement! You are such a strong woman! I’m really happy for you!"

"You inspire so many people," Badosa continued, including herself among them in the message to her tour "soulmate" Sabalenka, who defeated Jessica Pegula to win a long-awaited first US Open title.

But what's friendship if you can't also roast your friend in their finest hour? Washington champion Badosa signed off by asking Sabalenka, whose summer season saw her win 12 straight hard-court matches after losing in the semifinals in D.C. and the quarterfinals in Canada, to share the wealth.

"Please leave a bit for the rest," the Spaniard joked, "[e]specially me. Enjoy it, enjoy it! You deserve it."

Sabalenka also received social media messages from other players from Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek, to Bianca Andreescu, Ons Jabeur and Victoria Azarenka, but took the time to reply to Badosa, where she teased her right back.

"Thank you so much baby," Sabalenka replied. "I will, but only for you."

After popping bottles with her coaches, stunning in a photo shoot with her prize in Flushing Meadows, and making the rounds on morning television on Monday, Sabalenka logged back on to tell fans that she wasn't ready to let her championship celebrations be over in a New York minute.

But the end of her note sent a message that it might not be soeasy to topple her for big titles, even if you're her bestie.

"Don't worry guys, I'll be back practicing in a few days," she quipped.
