The Australian Open men's and women's singles trophies will travel around in style in 2024: Louis Vuitton is set to create custom cases for the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup and the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup.

The tournament announced the famed fashion house as its official trophy case partner this week, saying in a news release that the trunks will be hand-crafted in LV's workshops in Asnières, near Paris. Featuring a white letter 'V' painted across the front for the words 'victory' and 'Vuitton,' the wooden trucks will be stamped with the iconic LV monogram, finished with a leather trim, and feature the same brass corner protectors, lock and clasps that have been used by the brand since the 1860s.

The opening panels will fold back to reveal blue microfiber lining throughout, in the official hue of the Australian Open, and a white AO logo inside the lid.

The trunks will make their debuts with their respective trophies during the men's and women's singles finals, and will also be used on court in the ensuing trophy presentations.

“Louis Vuitton is renowned for creating iconic trunks and we are delighted with the stunning hand-crafted custom trunks created for our historic Australian Open trophies,” Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley said in a statement.

“The Australian Open and Louis Vuitton both share a commitment to unparalleled excellence and innovation, while retaining great respect for history, tradition and the celebration of legendary achievement and skill.”

The brand created similar trunks for the Rugby World Cup and soccer's famed Ballon d'Or in 2023, and has previously worked with other iconic sporting events including the FIFA World CupTM, the NBA Finals, Formula One’s Grand Prix de Monaco, League of Legends and the America’s Cup.

"We are proud to announce this new partnership with the first Grand Slam tournament of 2024, which once again shows that Victory travels in Louis Vuitton," Louis Vuitton CEO Pietro Beccari added. "For more than 170 years, the Maison has been creating trunks that embody excellence, creativity and audacity, all values we share with the world's greatest sporting events."
