Maria Sakkari and Bianca Andreescu react to upcoming US Open round of 16 clash

The two competitors are getting hyped up for their second-career meeting.

Just a few months ago, Bianca Andreescu and Maria Sakkari found themselves squaring off in a high-stakes match in the Miami Open semifinals. In just her third tournament back since a nagging knee injury, Andreescu inched past Sakkari in a grueling 7-6 (7), 3-6, 7-6 (4) affair to claim their first meeting.

The US Open will serve as the venue for their second-career meeting and this time they will be vying for a spot in the last eight. Andreescu will be hungry to take one more step closer to picking up her second US Open trophy, with her first coming in 2019 when she beat Serena Williams in straight sets. Sakkari on the other hand will look to move into her first quarterfinal at the New York Slam.

On Saturday, the official US Open Instagram posted a photo of the two players with the caption, "don't miss this matchup." The Greek quickly commented on the post with the raising hands emoji. Shortly after, Andreescu gave a cute response.

"Let's get itt," she wrote back to Sakkari.

The two top players will undoubtedly put on a show for the New York crowd come Monday.
