Marketa Vondrousova made good on her promise to celebrate her Wimbledon title with some fresh ink.

After defeating Mayar Sherif in straight sets in the first round of the Omnium Banque Nationale on Tuesday, her first match since beating Ons Jabeur on Centre Court to win her first Grand Slam title last month, Vondrousova revealed that she and her sister got matching, All England Club-inspired tattoos.

"A small W," the Czech told reporters, though she didn't reveal where on her body the latest art can be found.

But has her coach Jan Mertl followed through on his part of the bargain? (The former ATP pro made a bet that he'd get matching tattoos with his charge if she ever won a major title.)

"I think I’m going to go with coach in New York," she said, grinning.

As it turned out, the comfort of a her favorite tattoo parlor proved a welcome sanctuary for Vondrousova, who admitted that she now has a higher profile in the Czech Republic after her historic victory. Ranked No. 42 when she arrived at Wimbledon, she became the first unseeded woman to win the tournament in the Open Era.

"When we came home, the first week was really crazy," she said. "I went back to my hometown also, so it was amazing. Then I was in Prague, I had a couple of things to do; for me, I feel like it's a change.

"People are recognizing you more, even in the city and everything. For me, I don't like these kind of things, to be seen this much.

"People around me, I feel like they're going to expect so much now. I know if you are a Grand Slam champion, the expectations are very high, but for me it's important to stay just in my small circle and just work on things and just to get through some matches, with nerves and everything, just get used to the pressure. So that's what I'm working on now."
