She's my cover girl! Marketa Vondrousova and Zheng Qinwen are gracing the pages of a pair of fashion magazines ahead of the Paris Olympics: Czech Esquire and Harper's Bazaar China.
Vondrousova joined four other Czech athletes in the special spread in Czechia, where she donned an edgy black dress with a lace overskirt that paired well with her recognizable tattoos. Styled by Lenka Kermes and photographed by Benedikt Renc, Vondrousova was joined by archer Marie Horackova, fencer Alexander Choupenitch, judoka Lukas Krpalek and cyclist Iveta Miculycova for the shoot, who together have four Olympic medals.
The 2023 Wimbledon champion, who this year became the second woman to lose in the first round of her title defense at the All England Club, hopes to bounce back in Paris after having been one of the stars of the prior Olympics.
She was a silver medalist three years ago in the COVID-19-delayed Tokyo Games, where she defeated torchbearer Naomi Osaka along the way before losing to Belinda Bencic in a three-set final. In her second Olympic appearance, she'll also play doubles with Karolina Muchova.
