A good warmup routine gets your body both mentally and physically ready for a match. Walking onto the court cold can hurt your game, and your health.

"You cannot go on court [without warming up] and just play 100 percent, it would be risky for your body," world No. 19 Caroline Garcia said. "If I do that, I don't feel like I can move well on court, and I'm afraid I'm going to get myself injured."

Players always warm up their entire bodies and do extra moves for body parts that may have been injured before and are susceptible to getting tight or hurt. Each pro has a different routine but most include light stretches, simple exercises, running and swings of the arms and legs.
