Mauresmo, Bartoli take new coaching gigs

December is "Coaching Carousel" season, and the world of French tennis saw two big names pick up jobs this week.

For one, former Top 10 player Lucas Pouille announced a partnership with Amelie Mauresmo, a two-time Slam champion and former coach of Andy Murray.

Consequently, Mauresmo will not take over for as captain of the defending finalist French Davis Cup team. Instead, the French Tennis Federation will find a different replacement for Yannick Noah.

And, on the women's side, 2013 Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli is entering the coaching world herself, in the corner of 19-year-old Frenchwoman Lucie Wargnier.

Wargnier, ranked No. 761, made the final of a $15,000 ITF tournament in Belgium this August. Her most recent match was a 6-1, 6-0 loss to Timea Bacsinszky.

Pouille, still just 24 years old, has yet to get past the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam, and he's still looking for his first main-draw win at the Australian Open. Top-level experience in his box could be exactly what he needs.
