One pair of new tennis shoes, please—but hold the extra baggage.

Amid a sea of busy designs and tennis shoes featuring overbuilt and impractical components, FILA has unveiled a breath of fresh air in the new Mondo Forza shoe.

A new performance tennis shoe developed by the FILA Futura Innovation Team, the Mondo Forza was built for aggressive baseliners and features a sleek, minimalist design that cuts through the noise to focus solely on the demands of the modern game.

“The Mondo Forza is meticulously crafted from the ground up,” said Luca Bertolino, Global Brand Director at FILA. “In honor of our 50th year in tennis, we wanted a design that was focused on the modern player, and dedicated to helping players achieve even greater performance.

“We know that this shoe is true to our brand’s Italian heritage and is going to be an exceptional performer for everyone.”

The most striking detail in a shoe that’s all about them is the Mondo Forza’s split-surface outsole, designed to maximize traction and transition—two vital components for an attack-minded style of play. A proprietary, wood-based midstance plate also provides stability and responsiveness, while cushioning and energy return provided by a blend of natural and recycled materials makes for exceptional comfort on the court.

The Mondo Forza will be available in two initial colorways for men and for women: white, navy and powder blue, and white, glacier gray and wheat. The shoe retails for $160.

The shoe is now available at FILA.com, the FILA retail store on-site at the US Open, and select tennis specialty retailers nationwide including Tennis Warehouse and Tennis Point.
