Sania Mirza is planning for 2017 by setting clear goals and objectives. The doubles No. 1 has her sights on completing the coveted career Grand Slam by winning the French Open.
Mirza, who has held the top spot for 90 weeks, had an outstanding 2016: She won her third major at the Australian Open (with Martina Hingis), added eight doubles titles to her growing collection, and carried out a 41 consecutive match win streak (also with Hingis).
Mirza came close to victory at Roland Garros once (reaching the final in 2011 with Elena Vesnina), but still craves that missing trophy.
"If that [winning the French Open] does happen, it would be amazing," she said. "I won't kill myself, if I don't [win the French Open]...
"It would be amazing for me to have three back-to-back years with at least one Grand Slam. So, that would be my goal really and everything else follows."
