Mladenovic and Thiem go public with relationship

Kristina Mladenovic and Dominic Thiem have confirmed the rumors that they're dating by going "Instagram official." Both top stars shared the same photo with the same hashtags, including #TheOne.

Mladenovic sat down in Sydney and opened up about her relationship with the 24-year-old Austrian, which she says dates back to early 2017.

"We understand each other perfectly, we know what the other is going through, we know the way the other one can feel," she said. "Also on tour for traveling it also makes it easier because we have such a crazy busy schedule. So it’s always nice when you have your better half that can easily travel with you and also support you, see your match and understand what you’re doing.”

But just because they're one of the newest and highest-ranked tennis power couples on tour doesn't mean they'll be at all the same tournaments (Thiem, the world No. 5, started his year in Doha, while Mladenovic arrived in Sydney from Brisbane).

"Even if we are together doesn’t mean we are all the time going to commit to the same tournaments because the other one is playing, of course," Mladenovic said. "It’s very nice, and given that he’s at the top of the game, for me, as the woman, it’s very interesting because I can still practice with him."

The couple decided to go public after the world No. 11-ranked Mladenovic was spotted courtside supporting Thiem at the ATP Finals in London.
