Murray announces new documentary on Amazon Prime

In January, Andy Murray’s career seemed to be coming to a close when he walked off the court in Melbourne. With his head hanging and spirits low, Murray thought his hip injury would prevent him from competing again.

His title last month in Antwerp tells an unexpected story. Murray defeated world No. 18 Stan Wawrinka to capture his first singles event since his hip resurfacing surgery in January.

It turns out his long journey back has been documented and will be unveiled to the world on Amazon Prime. The three-time Grand Slam champion recently shared he will be releasing a documentary that covers his past two years.

The film “Andy Murray: Resurfacing” gives viewers an inside look at Murray's toughest obstacles.

“The film will take you on a journey through what were some of the lowest, most difficult periods of my life both physically and mentally," Murray said. "And will hopefully show and inspire viewers, that with the right mindset and work ethic, anything is possible."

Originally the story was set to solely feature the former world No. 1's comeback from surgery, but turned into the two-year long ride of his perseverance. The documentary followed Murray nearly every day to catch the essence of the challenges he endured.

Though the the spotlight is on the Scot, there are also interviews with his family, opponents and team.

The documentary will be released for Amazon Prime members on November 29.
