Former world No. 3 David Nalbandian was lucky to walk away from a treacherous accident at the Copa Maxi Rally de Entre Ríos on Monday in Argentina.

The 34-year-old informed fans that he and his copilot were unharmed, but the car is far from unscathed.

"Both my copilot and I are perfectly fine. Thank you for caring," Nalbandian wrote.

Since retiring in 2013, Nalbandian has become a full-fledged racing enthusiast, often posting photos of the blue car that nearly killed him.

The 2002 Wimbledon finalist shared two follow-up Tweets, saying, "These things happen trying to win and trying to get seconds, within a framework of internal problems that cause risks," and adding, "Hopefully this will not happen again to me or anyone, but this requires solving internal problems."

Rallying is a form of motorsport racing on public or private roads (not closed circuits) using modified road legal cars.
