"Let’s try one more time": Dominic Thiem, Diego Schwartzman reunite ahead of Roland Garros farewells

It may not have been the award they originally wanted when the US Open began, but Naomi Osaka and Diego Schwartzman have earned some hardware for their hard work with the US Open Sportsmanship Awards.

As the name suggests, the honor is given to the ATP and WTA players who best exemplify sportsmanship during the US Open Series through the final Grand Slam of the year. Each winner receives a trophy and a $5,000 donation to a charity of their choice.

Naomi Osaka, the defending US Open champion who lost in the round of 16 to Belinda Bencic in straight sets, was very excited to donate her earnings to the Red Cross to help the Bahamas find relief from Hurricane Dorian.

Schwartzman, who lost in the quarterfinals to Rafael Nadal, shared the Japanese player's sentiments.

Osaka is set to play in front of her home crowd in Tokyo next week while Schwartzman will not be back on court until Beijing at the end of the month.
