When Jelena Ostapenko reached the second week of the French Open, the player she most likely would want to play in her biggest career match would have to be Caroline Wozniacki. She had a 3-0 record against the Dane, and on Tuesday, extended it to 4-0.

The 19-year-old—now the youngest player to reach the semis in Paris since Ana Ivanovic in 2007— endured multiple rain delays to win, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Ostapenko has reached three finals in her career (Charleston, Quebec City and Doha) and her previous best result at a major was the third round of the Australian Open earlier this year.

The world No. 47 is the first Latvian women's singles player to reach the semifinals of a Grand Slam. The soon-to-be 20-year-old Ostapenko will face Timea Bacsinszky on their shared birthday on Thursday.
