Photos: Serena Williams stuns as she opens New York Fashion Week show

FLASHBACK: Tennis Channel Live discusses Serena Williams' final match of her illustrious career.

The first step in Serena Williams' post-tennis evolution was a stroll down the runway during New York Fashion Week—and as always, the 23-time Grand Slam champion made her move in unforgettable style.

Dressed in a metallic silver custom Balenciaga gown with a matching cape, Serena opened the Vogue World runway show walking alongside four “ball girls” wearing white Nike tennis outfits and holding tennis racquets.

In the background, a voice over of Serena’s 2000 interview with NBC played over the speakers.

“I want people to remember me as the girl who changed tennis or just was able to bring something new to the game,” said a young Serena.

Serena was joined by an array of supermodels including Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, Irina Shayk and more on the runway.

She took her seat in the front next to Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue—who watched Carlos Alcaraz clinch the US Open title the night before from Arthur Ashe Stadium. They were joined by the likes of Kanye West, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, Keke Palmer, Doja Cat and Jared Leto in the star-studded front row.

The Vogue World runway show transformed Manhattan’s Meatpacking District into a “fashion fair” in celebration of the magazine’s 130th birthday.

The show featured new fall/winter 2022 looks from Balenciaga, Dior, Gucci, Valentino, Burberry, Coach, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Diesel, Banana Republic and Tory Burch, while the brands also unveiled collaborations with iconic New York eateries like Katz Deli and Magnolia Bakery.
