The US Open is officially happening. From Aug 24-Sept 13, the major will be held but many players are on the fence about competing, or are being entirely left out from playing.

Novak Djokovic, Simona Halep, Ashleigh Barty and Rafael Nadal have raised concerns, while Roger Federer has already dropped out of the US Open (and all of 2020). There's worries about the safety of playing in the United States where the coronavirus pandemic is still ongoing, as well as hesitation at competing with so many restrictions, and zero fans.

The US Open will look very different without a qualifying draw, half a doubles draw and no mixed, junior or wheelchair draws. The news has got some players outraged, some wondering if it's worth it and others, like Andy Murray and Serena Williams, excited to play.
