What's a newly-minted Top 10 player have to do to get a pair of new sneakers around here?

After Frances Tiafoe nudged Coco Gauff for a pair of her signature New Balance CG1s , the American turned his attention to Carlos Alcaraz and his limited edition Nike kicks designed by rapper Travis Scott and John McEnroe.

The pair teamed up earlier this month to relaunch the signature 1984 Nike Mac Attacks, and Tiafoe played a starring role in the short film announcing the collaboration. In addition, Tiafoe and Scott, whose birth name is Jacques Berman Webster II, also became fast friends at this year's NBA All-Star game.

But despite all that, Tiafoe says he has yet to receive a pair of the shoes.

The American's pain was compounded when he discovered that Alcaraz snagged a pair of the coveted shoes before he did, when they crossed paths on the practice courts at the Queen's Club this week. After his first-round win over Botic van de Zandschulp at Queen's, Tiafoe told the media how it made him feel.

"It's funny. Me and him were just cracking jokes in the locker room. Totally forgot to ask him that," Tiafoe said with a big grin, joking with reporters that he wasn't sure if Alcaraz even knows who the rapper is.

"I see him [and said], 'Come on, man.' You can't be rocking those before I am. That's just unacceptable."

In addition, Tiafoe also had a message for Scott.

"I'm in the video, and I ain't got no f*ing shoes, man," he joked. "That bothers me, man. I don't know. We gonna have to fix that. I'm definitely gonna remind him, for sure!"
