Can you tell me how to get to Rajeev Ram Street? Ahead of his third Olympic appearance in Paris, four-time Grand Slam doubles champion and former world No. 1 Rajeev Ram was bestowed a special honor by his hometown of Carmel, Ind.—a street named temporarily in his honor.

The 40-year-old American will play with another former No. 1 Austin Krajicek, his Davis Cup teammate of the last year-plus, in Paris looking to at least double his career haul of Olympic medals. In 2016, he won the silver in Rio de Janeiro in mixed doubles with Venus Williams, as the pair lost the gold medal match to Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Jack Sock.

Paris' 16-team mixed doubles field will be made of players already qualified in singles or doubles, and will be confirmed shortly before the event begins.

"I’m super proud to be an Olympian for the third time. It’s not the first thing that comes to your head as a tennis player. But participating is an absolute privilege. I’m really looking forward to doing it," Ram said earlier this month following the June announcement of the 11-player U.S. tennis team.

"It’s all the best athletes in all the best sports around the world. You are absolutely a small part of a big production. It’s so global and it’s so neat. ... I caught the bug as soon as I had my first experience with it. I told myself unless it was a health reason, I would never turn down a chance to play.”

But Ram isn't the only Olympian from the Indianapolis suburb, which boasts just over 100,000 inhabitants.

Carmel's dubbed itself "Swim City USA" as a result of having three swimmers (siblings Aaron Shackell and Alex Shackell, and Drew Kibler) qualify for Paris, as well as a local swim coach, Chris Plumb, selected. That quartet also had streets dedicated to them, and "Chris Pumb Blvd." intersects with Ram's street near the Midtown Plaza commercial area of Carmel.

"I think it’s really cool. I hope to get to meet them. I hope I can make that connection," Ram said.

Krajicek and Ram are prepping for their Paris campaign this week at the ATP 500 in Hamburg, Germany, where they are the top seeds. They've won four of the five career Davis Cup matches they've played together, and also played the clay-court ATP 250 in Houston earlier this year, but were upset there in the first round.
