Rihanna and tennis: When the sun shines (in Melbourne), they shine together.

The singer's 2018 is off to a hot start as tennis-adjacent matters are concerned. First, Serena Williams saluted her "Lemon" hit off of N.E.R.D.'s new album with a tribute-of-sorts for Vogue, released in tandem with her February cover. Suffice it to say, RiRi was pleased.

Then just this week Will Ferrell faux-dished to Jim Courier that Rihanna is the celebrity world's No. 2 player behind Taylor Swift. (Neither is anywhere near true, but let him have this dispensable quip amidst a dispensable but thoroughly enjoyable Q&A with both Courier and media members themselves.)

Her backhand may not be bass-shaking, but the self-labeled good girl gone bad has found herself a darling just outside the tennis circle recently. Point, Ms. Fenty.
