Former Roland Garros junior finalist Sebastian Baez continued his ascent up the ATP rankings by capturing his third Challenger title of his career last week in Zagreb. The diminutive Argentine, who stands just 5’7”, stormed to the title all the way from the qualifying draw, coming back from a set down against Juan Pablo Varillas in the final.

Baez completed comebacks all week, defeating both Damir Dzumhur and Pedro Martinez from a set down earlier in the tournament.

“It was an amazing week,” Baez told ATPTour.com. “The truth is that it’s something incredible to start in qualifying and to be able to lift the trophy. It was just a really good tournament with really good matches for me.”

With his win, Baez became the fourth youngest Argentine to win at least three Challenger titles. The youngest? None other than the great Juan Martin del Potro, who won his third Challenger title at the age of 17 years and 10 months.
