Serena shuts down reporter's "Megxit" question

Serena Williams gives, and Serena Williams takes. On Monday in Melbourne, the 38-year-old shut down a reporter's question about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's "Megxit".

Serena had just beaten Anastasia Potapova, 6-0, 6-3, when the reporter took his opportunity with the very first question. She let him get the whole winding question out before saying,"I have absolutely no comments on anything with that."

But then she couldn't resist adding, with a big smile, "But good try. You tried. You did good."

The Duchess and Duke of Sussex just stepped down as senior royals, opting for a more peaceful life in Canada with their son Archie.

Serena and Markle are longtime friends, with the 23-time Grand Slam champion attending their royal wedding in 2018 and Markle showing up for Serena's matches, most recently at the US Open.
