Each year on the Fourth of July, Americans around the world take part in a time-honored tradition to celebrate the country's establishment as an independent nation nearly 250 years ago: eating, and lots of it, from hot dogs and hamburgers to chicken wings.

When Serena Williams joins in on the fun this year, she'll be doing so in front of cameras. The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion is set to appear this week on the famous YouTube talk show Hot Ones, which has built a cult following for its showcase of celebrity guests chowing down on progressively spicier wings while answering questions about themselves from host Sean Evans.

The pop culture phenomenon has produced more than 300 episodes since 2015, and has seen a who's who of A-listers, Grammy winners and superstar athletes take on the challenge.

It's also been responsible for some of the most meme-able internet moments in recent years, from Paul Rudd’s viral “Hey, look at us” moment of bonding with Evans, to brothers Jason and Travis Kelce decreeing that the task was "no f---ing joke."

In her career as a professional tennis player, Williams rose to nearly every challenge that was presented to her on court en route to her 23 Grand Slam singles titles, four Olympic gold medals, and 98 WTA singles titles. But Hot Ones is promising to bring the heat to a level that the former world No. 1 has never seen before when she becomes the first tennis player to join the show.

"This week on Hot Ones, we['ve] got Serena Williams vs. The Wings of Death," the show promised in its Instagram teaser for Williams' episode.

Before setting in to watch any celebratory fireworks shows on the Fourth, make sure you tune in first to catch this fire.
