Sharapova's autobiography set to drop in the fall

September will be a big month for not just Grand Slam finales but for tennis-adjacent happenings such as the Battle of the Sexes film premiere and the recently announced release date for Maria Sharapova's first autobiography.

If it's anything like her hubbub-inducing Vogue interview this month, Sharapova's memoir will prove to be an absorbing read over its 300-or-so pages. Expect musings about her chief rivals, especially Serena Williams, as well as romantic, fashion and business interests and her family and upbringing in Russia and then Florida. With hope, former tutor Nick Bollettieri will make a cameo appearance.

That's because, with Maria, nearly all things are possible.

Bjorn Iooss, son of famed photographer Walter Iooss, did Sharapova's book-cover shoot. We'll see how the dust-jacket imaging turns out, but you can plan now for a tasteful, chronological batch of shots to serve as the book's centerpiece. It appears that the two had their fun at work.

In addition to the Vogue piece, Sharapova also landed on the cover of Vanity Fair Spain's newest issue, replete with a behind-the-scenes, making-of video:

If you haven't realized by now that she can't be tamed, well, there's really no helping you. Soon enough, to the chagrin of some and the thrill of others, not even a meldonium ban will be holding her back from sanctioned tennis matches anymore.
