On Monday night in New York City, Maria Sharapova and Caroline Wozniacki stepped out at the Met Gala in almost matching red dresses.

Sharapova was continuing her streak of living life to the fullest by attending the event. (It's technically called the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology" Costume Institute Gala, but let’s not force anyone to read all of that ever again.)

The Russian arrived on the red carpet in a Juan Carlos Obando gown, with an extravagant gold dangling earring setting off the very red, very skimming look:

“I love the feel of a simple, beautiful, altered slip dress, and this felt like a new take on a classic,” Sharapova told Vogue.com. “This was the very first dress I tried on, but it was black. We wanted it to be more vibrant, and [Obando’s] red palette really popped.”

In what was most likely not planned, Wozniacki appeared in a very similar body-hugging red dress (by Prabral Gurung):

The matching blonde duo did its best to keep up with all the beautiful and outrageous outfits that appeared at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on this celebrity-studded night.

Sharapova has more time than ever to live the life of an A-lister, as her meldonium case with the International Tennis Federation continues. Wozniacki, on the other hand, has been out with an ankle injury.
