Between September 2020 and March 2021, Andrey Rublev went on a 23-match winning streak at ATP 500 events, picking up four straight titles at Hamburg, St. Petersburg, Vienna and Rotterdam—it was the second-longest winning streak at ATP 500 events since that level of tournament began in 2009 (Roger Federer won 28 matches in a row at ATP 500 events between 2014 and 2016).

But there’s another streak Rublev kept alive in Rotterdam today—with his 6-3, 6-3 second-round victory over Kwon Soonwoo, he has now reached the quarterfinals or better at his last 11 ATP 500 events in a row, a stretch that dates back to October 2019.

RUBLEV’S LAST 11 ATP 500 EVENTS:
~ QFs at 2019 Vienna (l. to Berrettini)
~ QFs at 2020 Rotterdam (l. to Krajinovic)
~ QFs at 2020 Dubai (l. to Evans)
~ Won 2020 Hamburg
~ Won 2020 St. Petersburg
~ Won 2020 Vienna
~ Won 2021 Rotterdam
~ SFs at 2021 Dubai (l. to Karatsev)
~ QFs at 2021 Barcelona (l. to Sinner)
~ F at 2021 Halle (l. to Humbert)
~ QFs at 2022 Rotterdam (so far)

The last time Rublev lost before the quarterfinals at an ATP 500 was at Beijing in 2019, where he fell to Fabio Fognini in the second round.

The Russian has reached the quarterfinals or better at 16 of the 24 ATP 500 events he’s played in his career, which is exactly two out of every three.

He’ll play Marton Fucsovics on Friday for a spot in the semis in Rotterdam.
