Stat of the Day: Novak Djokovic becomes third man in Open Era to win 50 or more matches in a year 13 times

Novak Djokovic’s 6-3, 6-2 round-robin victory over Andrey Rublev at the ATP Finals on Wednesday was a milestone in several ways—it put him into his 10th career semifinal at the ATP Finals, tying him with Pete Sampras for third-most after Roger Federer (16) and Ivan Lendl (12), and it was also his 40th career win at the event, passing Lendl for second-most, and now only trailing Federer (59).

But on top of those, there was another big milestone—it was Djokovic’s 50th win of the year, the 13th time in his career that he’s won 50 or more matches in a season.
