Two-time Grand Slam champion Simona Halep made a winning start to her Transylvania Open campaign in Cluj-Napoca on Wednesday, beating fellow Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse in an hour and 13 minutes, 6-1, 6-2.

And with the win, she continues to build on an already impressive stat.
