DJ Grigy D on the ones and twos! The  vibes were already immaculate just hours into the first day of the 2024 Laver Cup in Berlin, and thanks to Grigor Dimitrov, the soundtrack is on point, too.

The Bulgarian's eclectic music tastes are no secret, with the world No. 10 once telling Baseline that he loves everything from Linkin Park to composer Hans Zimmer, but in Berlin, where he's playing the Laver Cup for the first time since its inaugural 2017 edition, Dimitrov taken on the role of Team Europe's DJ, at least according to Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Tsitsipas revealed Dimitrov's unofficial title in an on-court interview with Andrea Petkovic after an opening singles victory on Friday as he took some good-natured teasing from the German that his only prior visit to Berlin was for a Coldplay concert.

"Grigor is in charge of the playlist," Tsitsipas said after his 6-1, 6-4 win over Thanasi Kokkinakis that gave Team Europe its first points of the weekend, when Petkovic asked if he's playing his favorite band's hits in the locker room. "I found some new and cool songs that he's been listening to.

"It's definitely not Coldplay, but something to add to the list!"

Fresh tunes aside, Tsitsipas had reason to feel good after his victory over the man who beat him less than a month ago in the first round of the US Open. He never trailed against a man who he previously played a pair of marathon Grand Slam matches against, earned his first match win since July, and said he owed a debut of gratitude to outgoing Team Europe captain Bjorn Borg. He even joked that the Swede should be his new coach.

"I came on the court with a big sense of determination from the very beginning, and I really didn't want to repeat what happened at the US Open," Tsitsipas said.

"My wish this week is to try and maximize as much as I can from my game. I know it's easy to say that, but I will really have to work hard for every single set that I will be playing this week. I really want to honor my team captains, my teammates that are by my side supporting me, and represent the continent in the best possible way."

"I know that there is this person by my side that I have massive respect for, but also, I want to make him proud," Tsitsipas added. "I really want to make Bjorn proud. I almost feel him as one of my close people."
