Steve Carell gets Wimbledon tour from Laura Robson and meets Iga Swiatek

From Scranton, Pa. to SW19: Welcome to Wimbledon, Michael Scott!

The Office star Steve Carell was at the All England Club on Friday as part of the promotional tour for the UK release of the animated film 'Despicable Me 4' where he voices the main character, Gru.

The A-list actor toured the club with Laura Robson on his visit, posed on Centre Court, and even had a meet-and-greet with Iga Swiatek, who fan-girled on social media about meeting him.

Carell is no stranger to tennis, having been one of the many in Hollywood to take up the game as a way to stay active during the COVID-19 pandemic. Carell and his wife, Nancy, are among the many famous folks who have taken lessons from the self-proclaimed tennis coach of the stars, Chris Crabb.

“Every class, I learn something, and at the same time it’s the most fun part of my day," he told *The Hollywood Reporter *in 2021.

But even before then, Carell played Bobby Riggs in the 2018 film Battle of the Sexes opposite Emma Stone as Billie Jean King, which chronicled the famous 1973 match of the same name. For his performance. he was nominated for a Golden Globe and a SAG Award—and Robson says that the actor told her Friday that he and his wife are fans of one of the pro tour's most entertaining players.
