Dodger Stadium is already used to hosting one pop culture icon named Billie, with tennis legend and equality activist Billie Jean King joining the LA Dodgers ownership team in 2018.

But this past week, another pop culture icon, singer-songwriter Billie Eilish, was also spotted on King’s home turf taking in a ball game.

While Eilish sent her fans into a frenzy with the impromptu appearance—and the subsequent release of two new tracks later that same day—King made sure to welcome the singer into the “best name club” with one iconic social media post:

Hubie beats the heat in Florida

Hubert Hurkacz is no stranger to balmy Florida days. The former world No. 9 regularly trains in the area, and he lifted his career’s biggest trophy—his first ATP Masters 1000 title—at the Miami Open last year.

But even for him, these summer temperatures are just Way Too Hot.

Temperatures in the Tampa area have regularly topped 95° F (35° C) this week, numbers that surely “feel” even hotter due to Florida’s famous humidity.

Drew Brees buys a pickleball team

Big news in the sports world: NFL legend Drew Brees has officially joined the pickleball craze.

Major League Pickleball (MLP) announced on Thursday that the former New Orleans Saints quarterback has joined the ownership group of the Mad Drops Pickleball Club, a team based in Austin, Texas.

“I am an avid pickleball player, fan and student of the game,” Brees said in a press release. “The opportunity to be a part of the ownership group of the Mad Drops PC is something I’m extremely excited about... As a long-time professional athlete and competitor, myself, I look forward to working with the Mad Drops PC team in our relentless quest to win many championships in the years to come.”

Former ATP world No. 4 James Blake—who helped launch MLP last year, and himself co-owns The Lions—welcomed Brees into the fold:

Genie's pizza party packs NYC hotspot

Last year, Genie Bouchard’s loyal fans dropped everything when the Canadian announced a spontaneous meetup at a beloved New York City pizza spot—some even driving hours for a chance to snap a selfie with her.

When a fan shared a throwback photo of the event, Bouchard wrote back: “Omg should we do genies pizza party 2022??”
