Svitolina continues love affair with Dubai

For some players it can be difficult to enjoy a tour-stop city and still play their best tennis, but Elina Svitolina has got it figured out in Dubai. During the week, the Ukrainian splurged on a shopping trip to Dubai Duty Free.

Dubai clearly has a special place in the 23-year-old's heart. Svitolina captured her first WTA Premier 5 title of her career in the United Arab Emirates last year and she defended her title successfully on Sunday over Daria Kasatkina.

The win marks Svitolina's 11th career title and second of 2018. The comfort-level in Dubai makes sense, as Svitolina has also has trained in nearby Abu Dhabi during the offseason.

Last year, Svitolina’s triumph in Dubai helped her gain momentum in a career-best season and 2018 may prove to be even better.
