Playing in her first match since winning Roland Garros, Iga Swiatek got off to a winning start in her warm-up event in Melbourne. The 19-year-old topped her good friend Kaja Juvan, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1, to set up a clash with Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Swiatek became a global phenomenon when she made history in Paris by becoming the first Pole to win a Grand Slam.

"Well, my life changed," she told press. "I had many more obligations. It was hard to rest after French Open... When we came back to Warsaw, it was even more intense, so I needed, like, I don't know, probably one month to fully focus on preparing for next season."

Settling into her new fame, she took some time during her two-week hotel quarantine to explain her Instagram content:

She talked about living on a farm (hence the goats), her friendship with Noami Osaka, her history with Hsieh Su-Wei and picking up tennis with her sister Aga.

Swiatek is the No. 6 seed at the Gippsland Trophy WTA 500, but she's more focused on just being back on court than the pressure.

"Basically I have, like, some kind of amount of stress, but it's normal amount," she said. "I don't feel like more pressure than before French Open. Actually, I'm more kind of confident that I can play good tennis."
