By now, most avid tennis followers know that Cruz Hewitt is following in the footsteps of dad Lleyton Hewitt.

The Aussie youngster has been a familiar face in the locker room through years of hitting the road with his father, who has stayed well-connected to the sport as a Davis Cup captain, mentor and commentator.

But who could have expected the transformation his now 15-year-old son shared on Instagram? For the budding junior talent’s growth spurt is on full display—at the expense of one Carlos Alcaraz.

“Just 3-5 years between both photos and you are now taller than me,” responded Alcaraz. “That’s tough.”

In August, Cruz won his sixth ITF junior title in Sydney. He is currently ranked No. 117 in the ITF junior rankings and made his Grand Slam boys’ debut in January at the Australian Open.

As for Alcaraz, he’s added two more major titles to his trophy collection this season after completing the “Channel Slam” by sweeping Roland Garros and Wimbledon. On Saturday, the Spaniard won his Laver Cup singles debut for Team Europe when he dispatched Ben Shelton.
