Although pro tennis has made a comeback, the tour as fans know it is far from normal. Much of the calendar is in disarray and organizers are still figuring out what is best for the players. Numerous tournaments have been impacted by COVID-19 in 2020, including the fourth edition of the Laver Cup.

Team Europe and Team World were meant to begin battle it on Friday in Boston, but with Roland Garros rescheduled from June to late September, the Laver Cup was forced to make the difficult decision to cancel.

But not all is not lost: the mobile gaming app Tennis Clash has partnered with Wildlife studios (one of the biggest mobile gaming companies) to bring the Laver Cup to life through a virtual version of the team event. From Thursday to Sunday, fans can experience the event like never before. All Tennis Clash characters will don their respective blue or red team colors, and the online gaming competition will be divided into four leagues depending on players' skill level.

“Working with Laver Cup allowed us to create a really fun experience for Tennis Clash and Laver Cup fans by bringing the two brands together for this special themed event,” said Ana Costa, Game Director of Tennis Clash.

Besides the signature red and blue colors, fans will compete on the virtual black courts with a variety of graphics that aim to make competitors feel as if they are really representing Team Europe or Team World.

Fans won't just be competing for bragging rights, but for tickets to the rescheduled 2021 Laver Cup in Boston at TD Garden. Each of the four leagues will have a winner and the runner-ups won't be exiting the game empty handed. A limited-edition signed Roger Federer racquet will be given to second-place players, and third place will receive commemorative Laver Cup merchandise.
