The 2018 Roland Garros fashion aces

Four times a year, major events turn the pro tennis court into a runway of sorts – or a runaway, if you're Rafael Nadal in Paris, seeking that 11th clay-caked crown.

That said, with this second Grand Slam of the season at its midpoint, the style report is in as a tailored, trimmed-down account of the tournament's well-heeled wardrobing. Here's hoping you continue to enjoy the hems and hues that these looks deliver in the world's fashion capital.

With further ado (adieu?), here are the 2018 French Open's fashion hits:

Jeremy Chardy and Novak Djokovic

Lacoste, the brand of hometown glory, was not about to disappoint in the City of Light. Whether draping the statuesque Chardy (and others) in classic-color polos or adorning the relatively gangly Djokovic in subtler yet similarly stately tones, the collection is a resounding win.

John Isner

Fila has truly figured out how to dress the big-and-tall set. With Isner, the all-American, thick-horizontal stripes project an assured strength – much needed in a fourth-round slugfest against Juan Martin del Potro.

Serena Williams

It's likely to go down as the fashion move of summer, if not the season on the whole. The GOAT returned from major-tennis maternity leave with a blast-from-the-past Nike look expounded on so as to make a postpartum statement.

Rafael Nadal

A top-form defending champ in full flight, Rafa easily carries off these Nike blue hues with aplomb and passion, so sharp as set against the crushed–red-brick surface.

Simona Halep, Sloane Stephens, Maria Sharapova and Karen Khachanov

These stylish players and plenty more have benefited from Nike getting it oh-so-right with the shade of teal chosen for this event. Sharapova in particular claims victory with an intriguing, back-baring look that brings a playfulness perfect for this city, and an empire waist will always be chic. Moulin Bleu? Moulin Vert? Let's say both – and points go to the House of Swoosh.

Dominic Thiem

Adidas elevates this look with textured fabric and accented sleeves befitting a title contender (and one with perfectly wavy coiffure at that). Rafanatics might flip over the statement, but this might just be Thiem's time.
