While the action on the courts of Crandon Park is sizzling, there is plenty of fun to be had in Miami’s many unique neighborhoods. The South Florida city attracts visitors year round, with plenty to see and do from the beach to the nightclub.

During the Miami Open, many of the players take advantage of the great hotels downtown such as the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, where the player party took place last week.

For spring breakers and music lovers, you can combine your days of tennis with one of the world’s largest music festivals, Ultra Music Festival. Featuring some of the most popular DJs and EDM artists, the festival is held during the first weekend of the tournament at Bayfront Park, a stone’s throw away from downtown Miami.

Miami also has plenty for art lovers with some of the world’s best modern and street art on display throughout the city. The world famous Wynwood Walls features an assortment of wall art and graffiti.

There’s plenty of culture and diversity in the Latin-influenced city. To step back in time, visit the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, a European mansion featuring incredible greenery and views of Biscayne Bay. For more history, take a drive to Coral Gables, where the Freedom Tower serves as a historic landmark to Cuban migrants in South Florida. Starting in 2019, the Miami Open will move from Key Biscayne to the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins, to start a new chapter in this storied tournament’s history.
