The shirt that Rafael Nadal wore when he won his first Roland Garros in 2005 is up for auction

Nearly 20 years ago, a teenaged Rafael Nadal famous announced himself to the global sporting world with a dominant run to his first of a to-date 14 singles titles at Roland Garros. A piece of that historic triumph can now be yours ... if you have an extra $100,000 to spare.

Seeded No. 4 in his first Roland Garros, Nadal knocked out countryman David Ferrer in the quarterfinals, beat Roger Federer for the first time at a major in the semifinals, and, two days after turning 19 years old, defeated unseeded Mariano Puerta in four sets to lift his first major trophy.

While he made a statement with his tennis in those three wins, he also served up one of the most iconic fashion statements tennis the sport has ever seen.

The green-patterned Nike T-shirt paired with long white pants is widely considered one of the most recognizable 'fits from Nadal’s career, and the tee is one of a handful of match-used apparel and equipment now up for auction hosted by Prestige Memorabilia, the global leader in tennis memorabilia.

The shirt is expected to sell at auction for the aforementioned six-figure price. Previous items have sold above this projected total, including Nadal’s 2007 Roland Garros-winning racquet, which sold for $118,206.
