The young stars are in full force at the Delray Beach Open, with all four bottom-half quarterfinalists being age 21 or younger.

Three of them--Denis Shapovalov, Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe--took part in the "ATP Next Gen Emoji Imitation Challenge." Hyeon Chung, though he won the Next Gen Finals in 2017, is technically no longer Next Gen because he'll turn 22 in May.

For the Emoji Challenge, the players had to try to become real-life versions of cartoon tennis players that had emojis for heads.

The hearts-for-eyes emoji required a significant degree of creativity, executed perfectly by Shapovalov.

In the tennis tournament, Shapovalov advanced to the semifinals on Friday with a straight-sets win over Fritz. Tiafoe held a 5-3 third-set lead versus Chung on Friday when play got suspended for the day due to rain. On Saturday, the American defeated both Chung and Shapovalov to advance to his first ATP final.
