Top 5 Photos, 10/9: Djokovic outlasts Tsitsipas in Paris

The day started off with a routine win for the King of Clay as he rolled into his 13th Roland Garros final. But then things got really interesting when Novak Djokovic was forced to go the distance against the extremely talented Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Novak Djokovic

The world No. 1 looked as if he was going to easily take the semifinal showdown against Stefanos Tsitsipas and he even held a match point in the third set. However, the Greek would push Djokovic to the limit.

Djokovic stepped his level up for a 6-3 6-2 5-7 4-6 6-1 win to get one step closer to capturing his second Roland Garros title. He will face Rafael Nadal on Sunday for the eighth time in Paris.

Stefanos  Tsitsipas

The Greek has a lot to be proud of. He has reached two Grand Slam semifinals this year and had an incredible showing against Djokovic on Friday evening. Tsitsipas joins a short list of men's players who have reached multiple semifinals before turning 23. He will also break the Top 5 after his deep run in Paris.

Kristina Mladenovic and Timea Babos

The 2019 Roland Garros champions are back in the final round after edging past No. 4 seeds Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova 6-2, 4-6, 7-5. The No. 2 seeds will vie for their fourth title together against Americans Alexa Guarachi and Desirae Krawczyk.

Rafael Nadal

The 19-time major champion is into his record 13th final showing in Paris. A few weeks ago, Nadal took a straight-set loss to Diego Schwartzman but he's back in form and has adapted to the unusual circumstances at this edition of Roland Garros. The Spaniard now holds an astonishing 99-2 record at the major.

Diego Schwartzman

The Argentine had a fantastic few weeks: hhe claimed his first Top 5 win, reached his first ATP Masters 1000 final and reached the Roland Garros final four, his first major semifinal during his 10 year on tour.

“He played better than Rome. He has a lot of matches in his body, so he improved a few things that he did not so well," Schwartzman told press. "I made a few mistakes with my backhand today. I just played a little bit worse, but I think it was better from him."
